What We Believe and Why

1.  We believe there is one living, holy and true God. The eternal God reveals Himself to us as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe and is worthy of our worship, obedience and love. (We value worship)

2. We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God. The Bible is the sole authority of faith and practice in the church and has the power to transform lives into the likeness of Christ.

(We value Biblical Authority)

3. We believe in eternal salvation by grace. Salvation is possible only by God's grace through faith in Christ as one's Lord and Savior. Salvation is eternal in that those who have received Jesus Christ, as Lord and Savior will dwell forever in heaven with God and those who have not will stand before God condemned eternally to hell.

(We value eternal salvation)

4. We believe that the Christian life is a personal relationship with God. This relationship begins the instant a person receives Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and is characterized by a lifelong walk of faith, spiritual growth, and stewardship of time, abilities, and resources to the Lord's work.

(We value Christian discipleship)

5. We believe in the core doctrines of our Baptist identity. Our core doctrinal stance is in agreement with the doctrinal statement of "The Baptist Faith and Message" as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention in 2000.

(We value Baptist identity and doctrine)

6. We believe that each Christian should serve God according to their spiritual gifts. The unity of the church is displayed in the diversity of gifts within the body of Christ where each individual serves according to their spiritual gifts.

(We value using spiritual gifts in Christian service)

7. We believe prayer is a believer's lifeline to God and prayer is a priority in our worship, meetings, planning, and personal lives.
(We value prayer)

8. We believe Christians should reflect God's incomprehensible love. God has an incomprehensible love for each person and calls us to reflect that love in daily attitudes, actions, and relationships.

(We value living with love)

9. We believe in Christian missions. God has called us to extend the mission of this church through local, regional, national, and global missions. We do this by supporting the Southern Baptist Convention, our local Noonday Association, cooperating with other Southern Baptist churches, and participating with other Christ-centered churches and ministries.

(We value partnering with others in missions)

10. We believe lost people matter to God. Therefore the Gospel should be presented in ways that will effectively reach them.

(We value reaching out with a heart for the lost)

11. We believe a church should be a Christian community. New Life should be a church where people are known, loved, served, and celebrated in meaningful relationships.

(We value authentic relationships)

12. We believe in strengthening families. New Life is committed to help people grow in understanding and applying Christian principles in their family relationships.
